What do our customers say?
"Operated exclusively by Akaro tours, whose owner grew up in a nearby Shamba, this rewarding half-or-full day tour starts at the village of Materuni on the foothills of Kilimanjaro some 14Km from Moshi. The walk follows sloping raods and footpaths through the surrounding mountside top the loveliest waterfalls, a 70m-high bridal veil' fall set at the head of the steep wooded gorge. One of the visit, something i don't say lightly after having regularly hiked for miles in the line of duty to check out what transpired, was yet another unmemorable cataract. On the full day you continue from the waterfall, climbing steep cultivated slopes to a Chagga homestead, where lunch and homegrown coffee are provided. From here you can continue on to Rua forest, which harbours black-and-white colobus monkeys as well as most of the mountain forest birds associatd withe kilimanjaro. The full day version can also incorporate a visit to a typical Chagga coffe and banana subsistence farm.
